I won’t be writing much yet. I’m still trying to catch up from being in NYC for the weekend and I haven’t really stopped all day. I need to go for a walk but it’s so fucking cold outside. What the hell? Tomorrow I have to go to the gym and go running, as in I will make time for it and do it. I gained 5 lbs. in NY, and I don’t regret a single calorie of it, but I have to lose it and then some! I ate like a pig - NYC Pizza at 3:00 am with the owners of Njoy, a hotdog wrapped in bacon and deep fried with avocado and sour cream and drinks in a secret bar with the owner of VibeReview.com, and lots and lots of brie with Tess. Jamye was ridiculously nice and let me stay at her place which was just off the train and made it easy to hop, skip, and jump into Manhattan to meet up with Natt Nightly for brunch and shopping. I ate chicken apple sausage, eggs, potatoes, a biscuit with butter, and a corndog and pink lemonade! In retrospect, I should be grateful that I only gained 5 lbs. Man!
I really regret not having enough time to even meet up with Dacia for drinks - by the time it could have happened I had just returned from the city and was freezing and exhausted and just couldn’t go back across to Manhattan. I know, when last you heard I was going to be staying with her - but then I found out she had a roommate moving in and I didn’t want to add to her chaos and so I stayed with Jamye. I am sad that we didn’t get to hang out on her couch and talk for hours — on my next visit! I’m definitely returning. I feel as though I’ve made lifelong friends and just begun to get to know others. There is so much to do now.
I met so many amazing people. I could just list them off, but I think I’ll savor each story for a different post. I’d like to keep the feeling I had in NYC alive as long as possible.

Life is moving at the speed of sound. Yesterday I spent a good portion of my day and evening working on a press release for the In The Flesh Reading Series Oral Sex Night and today I started on press releases for the NYC Sex Blogger 2009 Limited Edition Calendar Launch Party and Dacia’s Love Machine’s World Premiere at the Berlin Porn Film Festival. My favorite moment of the day happened when discussing the press release with Dacia, who owes me a quote for the final draft. I have to share the moment - it went something like this:
- Me: “Don’t worry, I can always get a quote from you from Berlin.”
- Dacia: “the only problem with that is that is it might be a little tricky with me being all whooping it up in Berlin.”
- Me: “iPhone, baby!”
- Dacia: “what I’m trying to say is that I may be too drunk/knee deep in french lesbians”

I was planning my trip to New York for the calendar launch party (November 14th, Meet Me There!!) and it kind of looks like this: Stay Thursday night with Tess, Friday night with Tess and Diva at the hotel, Saturday night at Dacia’s, and then have a leisurely breakfast before heading back home on Sunday. You should seriously pre-order your calendar if you are planning to buy one. They are limited and they are going to sell out, so if you’re planning to buy it, don’t let the grass grow under your feet (::hint hint::).
I was also planning my trip to see The Butterfly Temptress today. I was thinking that I would maybe take the Greyhound for the first time ever, like see it as an adventure and an opportunity to blog about something weird and new to me, Say Yes To It! I was all psyched, thinking it would cost like $50.00 to get to where I’m going, maybe $100. It was more than an airline ticket. What?! Holy Crap. Why do people take the Greyhound then? That is so baffling. So I looked up Amtrak, because I thought - train = adventure = Yes! No. Amtrak was almost twice that of an airline ticket. So why would anybody spend 18 hours on a train at twice the expense of a two hour flight? I don’t get it. For real. How do they stay in business? I’m so flexible with the dates that I can go to visit her that I think I will ultimately put in a $99.00 bid on Priceline and try to get a cheap ticket. Who knew? I’m shocked.
Changing topics (drastically): Madison Young is so unbelievable! If you are going to be in Minneapolis this weekend, you have to check out her reading at Smitten Kitten. I still have a movie of hers to review on CatalinaLoves.com and an interview to do with her! Don’t think I’ve forgotten, but in fact just really behind on my own content to do work for other people. As a good friend once taught me, “My work suffers so yours doesn’t.” Anyway, we were talking today about her press release and she said that she would send me an autographed copy of her limited addition Madison Young’s Erotic Breast Self Exam Posters. I can’t wait. I’ll frame it and hang it in my office/bedroom! At some point, I’ll have quite the erotic art collection. I think I have a good start! A Good New Site:
Public Disgrace by Kink.com is really on the edge, literally - their first scene is fantasy rape and it is really hot. Keep in mind it’s fantasy, people - we all know real rape and fantasy rape are very separate things and consensual fantasy rape is a very common fantasy for many women like myself, who consider themselves to be feminists.
A Good Blog:
Skid Roche is self-described as: “The online home of writer Thomas S. Roche, author of crime-noir, fantasy, horror, and erotica stories. Contains erotic fiction, horror fiction, photos, oodles of links, and articles on horror movies, crime fiction, porn, B-movies, science fiction, film noir, horror movies, vampires, firearms, civil liberties, politics, cryptozoology, the mafia and the arts. Bigfoot says hi.” It’s a little bit of everything and then some. I like it a lot.
A Good Deal:
If you really want the Liberator Wedge/Ramp combo (like the one I reviewed) but you can’t quite slip it into your budget, take a look at their new product called, The Whirl. It is a really nice substitute for a wedge. It’s less expensive, but the quality is not cheaper. Seriously. I’m a true-blue fan of Liberator products and I specifically asked to test the Whirl and review it because I was thinking about your budget.
A Good (Sexy) Costume:
I’ve never gone to a Halloween party. Never. But I hope to one day, and if you happen to be going to one this year, you might be in the market for a sexy little costume. Will Ferrell’s page on Funny Or Die is …funny. I love his videos on here. Mr. F. got me started on them with The Landlord and then later with The Green Team. Be sure to check those out. Seriously, it is a good laugh.
A Good (The Best) Coldplay Site:
Coldplaying.com is the place to go if you happen to be like me and know that Chris Martin’s birthday is March 2nd. Yes, it’s for people who are truly obsessed enough to want to read all the latest news and I’m a nerd. I own ColdplayLiveArchive.com, remember. Don’t waste your time. I haven’t had a chance to upload any of the shows I have, but I think I’m close to 200 shows now, I have one from Zurich on the 28th of September that is amazing. But I digress - Coldplaying.com is the authority on Coldplay. They even have their own toolbar you can download to get the latest, breaking Coldplay news! (I know, I am pathetic).
A Good How-To Guide:
On The Femmes Guide there is a How-To Guide to do just about anything you can imagine from How To Make A Sweet Sachet to how to the How To Guide To Female Ejaculation. You’ll find a little bit of everything.
A Good Book:
I’m halfway through Naked on the Internet
and I love it! I’ll write my own review of it, but this is how Amazon describes the book:

So I was talking to John today about Fetlife advertising, as I do pretty much every day, and I mentioned to him that two of the most common questions people ask me are, “What is John really like?” and “What is it like to work for Fetlife?” So I told him, and I’ll tell you, too: John is really exactly like he presents himself on his profile on Fetlife right down to the dorky hat. He is friendly, honest, and genuine, he is compassionate, and he really cares about keeping Fetlife for the community. He is also one of the smartest people I know. He is one of three people whose opinion I seek when something really matters to me. He is one of my best friends and I haven’t even met him. Working with him on Fetlife just seems very natural to me. As soon as I came to Fetlife I knew it was special and I had to get involved. As far as working for him - I think of it as working with him. I mean ultimately Fetlife belongs to John, but as with anything else on Fetlife, John always seeks input and feedback before he makes a decision, so I feel like we collaborate. I have the best job in the world. I work with a friend on a project that I believe in while wearing my pajamas and listening to Coldplay. How can you ask for more than that?
Oh, if you’re lucky you don’t have to ask - you just exist. In my inbox today were two images from Audacia Ray, proofs for the NYC Sex Blogger Calendar, and I got to give my input on which one to use. I’ve seen a few of the proofs now, and I can tell you, as soon as I get the green light to post a pre-order post, I’ll be setting you up to buy a calendar. Those pics are hot, and knowing that they are the women behind all that delicious smut makes it even hotter. I am not really a calendar buying kind of person, but I will definitely be buying a calendar, just to hang in my pseudo-office. Call me a fangirl. Go ahead. I invited it. I embrace it. How could I not be a fan of these 12 amazing women!?! They are exactly what I (and most bloggers) aspire to become. I feel very lucky just to know some of them and be involved from a distance on the project!
Nikki sent me a zip file of images from our shoot (Altered Aperture) last week. They are shocking to see — If I weren’t positive that we shot together last week, I would swear some of those shots aren’t me! I love some of the suspension bondage shots she got. I’ll have to share on CatalinaLoves.com over the next several weeks. I am trying to be greedy with them and not just publish them one after the other, day after day. So many people know Ms. Nikki Nefarious and they also ask me what she’s like. She is every bit as sweet and adorable as she looks, and she is every bit as serious as the rope marks left in my skin after those shoots. She’s little, but don’t underestimate her - she’s a really powerful person and one hell of a photographer!
Don’t forget about Lochai. I couldn’t leave him out. He is undeniably important to me. Today marks the end of his first full week at Hogtied.com and soon we should be seeing his influence there. Anybody who is friends with Lochai would agree, he is over the top fantastic to his friends. He is truly a man of integrity and I trust him completely. When he gives me his advice or opinion, it carries a lot of weight. On top of that he’s Lochai! Need I say more? Have I not publicly said a thousand times that I adore that man?
And now it’s time to get in the shower and get ready to go visit my friend, M, for our Friday night tradition.
You hear artists say they are content rich and cash poor - well I do feel very friend rich. I am very lucky to have amazing friends!

Today was an interesting day. It was supposed to go like this: Fetish Fair Fleamarket, yoga with Susan and The Dude, and then home for an evening with or without Ellie and J, depending on whether or not they attend Purgatory tonight. We figured it made sense for us to try to go on behalf of Quid Pro Quo, good PR for our own PR company. Here’s how it went: I drove to South Carolina to pick up W from a sleepover, canceled yoga with Susan and The Dude, went to the Fetish Flea Market and came home. Ellie and J are still out and about and are thinking about going to Purgatory. I know myself well enough to know that Purgatory isn’t my scene.
It was interesting that at the fetish event there was an entire workshop dedicated to a face-to-face meeting of people from a Fetlife.com group. We didn’t even know that there was a Fetlife centered workshop. We walked through the door, unsure we were in the right place, and introduced ourselves as being a part of Fetlife and sat down to listen to what they had to say. It was neat to hear again and again how Fetlife has become a central part of their lives, a way to keep in touch on a daily basis with their family. It was really quite touching. I came home and told John all about it. He couldn’t believe it, and then he received an email from someone who was at the workshop/meeting who had written to tell him how important Fetlife and how it has really meant a lot to them to have a place to feel at home. Nice! John, you are changing the world!
I found a few nice corsets at the fleamarket, but it was difficult to find my size. Now WTF?! When I was a larger size I couldn’t find a nice corset that fit and now that I am small, I can’t find a corset that fits. Today all the corsets were too big or the few I found that were 22″ were like $500.00. If I’m going to invest that kind of money into a corset it’s going to be custom made for me. Doesn’t it seem to you like someone should make a corset for me so that I can promote the fuck out of their corsetry business? I would work for trade. Hey you corset seamstresses - are you listening? :)
Cleis Press sent me Tristan Taormino’s new book, Opening Up, to review. I have only heard good things about it and as a polyamorous soul married to a monoromantic, an open relationship can be a challenge - so not ony am I looking forward to a good read for the review, but also I am hoping to get something out of it personally. Well, that’s where the best reviews come from, anyway - though a book can be good and still not really be appealing to you.
I dd hear from my NYC friends that they are all getting set for tomorrow’s shoot. No alcohol, strict orders by the photographer will make for a less interesting evening, though if you put those 12 women in the same room, I don’t think it matters, the energy alone would be intoxicating!
Next week’s posts on Catalina Loves are going to be really good, if I do say so myself. I have an interview with Kink.com CEO Peter Acworth, a very good toy review on Tuesday, Lochai starts his new job with Hogtied.com Monday, so there will be lots of Lochai news, there is an interview waiting for me to post from Sgt. Major, who is a Kink.com dom, but also owns his own site: BackdoorBondage.com. I also have to write an interview for Madison Young, who sent me her new movie (w00t!) and hopefully Nikki will have some new images ready for me next week from our photoshoot this week. That’s a lot of good stuff, and that’s off the top of my head, so set make sure you subscribe and get all the goodness that there is.
Alright, enough babble for now. I swear upon all things holy that I will get through my email this weekend. It’s become a huge priority at this point!

Hooray For Hot Yoga!
I’m in between tasks so I thought I’d post a little. I just got home from Hot Yoga class with Susan. Remember Susan? We got together again recently, Brad and Susan and I. This time instead of focusing on Susan, we focused our attention on Brad. I think he had a very good time. I know that I did! I’m still thinking about it. I do need to devote an entire post to the experience - it was fun - but I’m so backed up on content that it’s in the queue somewhere! Anyway, Susan and I are becoming friends and in my attempts to be a more sociable person, I went to a new yoga class today. By the way, if you were wondering what makes it hot yoga instead of just yoga, it’s the 90 degree room temperature for an hour and a half. I loved it!
I received my new products from Liberator to review — I asked for a Whirl, which is a new product, and a throe. I’m looking forward to finding all the possible ways to put them to use!
I heard from Lochai and their trip seems to be going fantastic! It’s always iffy to travel cross country and then when you throw in three cats (one of them is a behemoth!) then it’s a toss up. It could go either way. Fortunately for them, everything does seem to be working out so well that I keep saying it’s obvious that this is the right path!
I am seriously backed up with work from playing too much the past two days, so I’m keeping this short! I’ve got something in my inbox from Rachel Kramer Bussel that I need to post on BestSexBloggers.com and books to read and reviews to write and sexy tales to report and… oh, I still need to get the inspection on my car done since it has expired and at some point I also need to write some thank-you notes. Tomorrow is dedicated to work.
I have made some really awesome friends lately. I have to say that every day I am more and more impressed with the women (and some men even) that I call my friends! Take Sarah, for example. Wow, what an amazing person!! Tess, whose boobs have been mentioned many times, is also one of those women that I would love to spend an afternoon with. Audacia is a given - I would love to spend a day in her apartment just watching her work! Alright, I’m stopping with three, because otherwise this will just turn into a post about my friends and how awesome they are and it will be 8 miles long!
And now, onto my next task - taking a shower and spending the rest of the evening with Marky. I feel really kind of guilty about leaving work undone that should be done, but I’m also just at a point where I wouldn’t be very efficient or effective. Yoga today was all about being present - giving each thing you do your full attention and noticing the small things, the way it feels in your fingertips to type, for example. I’m in a yoga state of mind and all I want to do is be.

How stupid is it that if I were in the same video as the guy in the post yesterday that the video would be R-rated because it would show my boobs, but that same man, who has bigger boobs than I do, by the way, can show his freely? What is it about the areola and nipple of a woman that make it naughtier than the rest of the breast? Why is it that it’s okay to fuck for money as long as you sell it as a movie? I wonder why. I really do.
So Lochai left today for San Francisco. I’ll be writing his blog as he updates me over the phone for the week. That’s kind of fun, actually and he knows I love doing it for him, so make sure you read it!
