I’m wrapping things up to leave for Alabama.   It was a great week here.  A very nice package from a friend in NYC showed up unexpectedly with a bottle of Chartreuse and little finger puppets for the baby.  It was very sweet and we are very grateful.  Thank you, D!

Another package that I am expecting from NYC did not make it here yet, which is kind of a bummer.  I sent money to a friend to have something sent special for Marky and it hasn’t arrived.  I’m hoping it gets here before we leave for the Holiday.

My friend, EmJ, has a birthday while I’m away on vacation and I sent her a birthday package that she did actually receive on time.  This shocks me, since she didn’t get my Christmas card!  I am truly baffled by the USPS lately.  Happy Birthday, EmJ!  I hope that the 364 days between this birthday and the next are full of love, joy, and peace!

Happy Birthday tomorrow to La Profesora!  Your card won’t make it to you on time, but it’s worth it, because I included a couple of pictures for you.  I love you!  I am so proud of all you have done in the year since your last birthday.  You are truly inspirational.

I went out to dinner with M on Friday and was called home in the middle of dinner - the poor baby was very ill and nothing but Mommy will do in those times.  M was very understanding and we wrapped up food and I left very quickly.  It was disappointing to not spend much time together before leaving on vacation, but he will still be here when I get back.

The Dude had sex last week and refuses to give me details until I can honestly say that I did my ab workout, but since I can’t and he knows when I’m lying to him, I’ve heard no details about his sex.  By the time I get back from vacation, he will have forgotten and the story won’t be as juicy - what’s the point now?! ;-)

I am really, really behind on writing and email.  I’m hoping to catch up while I’m on vacation.  I owe email to friends that wrote me like a month ago!  My content list for Catalina Loves is up to something like 30 posts.  That’s on  my list of things to do not even my fantasies and experiences and adventures, and need I remind you I still have hardly written about my adventures in NYC!  Yes, I’m hoping that this vacation I manage to get some work done.  It sounds silly, but I have to go on vacation to work.

I worked on a very secret elf project this week and it was a lot of fun.  I wish I had another month to work on it, but time passes whether or not we like it.  I had a huge battle with a large pharmacy, who I won’t even name here because it will only give them a Google hit, who fucked up prints of our family photo that was done as a gift for my in-laws.  They look like they were done on a color copier, and poorly, in 1986.

And that’s about my week in summary.  I’m behind, I’m out of touch, and I have no social life to speak of.  Work is really cramping my style!  I have the best job in the world, actually, and the fact of the matter is that work is very much my social life.

It’s hard to make a title and then write on CatalinaSays.com, because I generally just start writing and whatever ends up coming to my mind, I write about, then at the end I try to make sense of it and add an image.  Nothing makes sense today - this image has nothing to do with anything and it’s linked (click it) to an old post I wrote about being Mrs. Robinson on CatalinaLoves.com, which also has nothing to do with anything.

For example, today I traded a baby for a dog.  No, not literally.  I took S to the sitter’s house and The Dude brought his pup over today for us dogsit.  It turns out, it’s easier to take care of a semi-potty-trained puppy than a semi-potty-trained preschooler.  Our cats behaved vehemently.  The poor pup was scared of them.  She spent most of the day hiding between Marky’s feet.

Cleis Publishing contacted me today — I’m writing a review of Rachel Kramer Bussel’s book, Spanked, which is an anthology of (yep, you guessed it) spanking stories for Amazon.com.  Marky and I together are reviewing her oral anthologies, Tasting Him and Tasting Her.  They are super(duper) hot!  What’s the connection? Rachel Kramer Bussel had given them my contact information to be added to the 6 Degrees of Catalina Networking project I am working on.  Thanks, RKB!

I ate my first McDonald’s cheeseburger in over 18 months tonight.  That’s worth noting.  I don’t eat fast food.  However, my family does and for dinner tonight they wanted McDonald’s.  In my attempts to be a more reasonable person, I am trying to adapt to their life more.  So I ate a cheeseburger.  According to their site, that little cheeseburger was 300 calories.  By those same figures I used to eat 1,300 calories in a meal.  I also ate a Nutri-grain bar today.

If you were on the edge of your seat over the quilt that was sent by La Profesora, yes, it made it here and it is unbelievably beautiful and an absolute heirloom.  W and S have both tried to claim it.  Nice try, I’m still alive.

Now I’m expecting a package from Liberator.  They have a new shape that I’m going to try out!  I’m pretty excited about that.  The challenge will be, how many different ways can we use this?  I love a good challenge.  If I’m not mistaken, they are also sending a Throe to me, which I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time, since first hearing about them!  Thank you, Liberator, for the chance to review for you again!  I absolutely adore your products.

I considered moving to San Francisco for a few seconds, then came back to reality.  Of course, that’s where Lochai will be - The Armory.  My dream job, I think, is at Kink.com.  I want the job with the clipboard where you get to tell men (and women) to undress.  If only…

Well, I still have a movie review to write - Madison Young sent me her new movie, “Lesbian Life: Real Sex San Francisco”.  I watched it last night and so now it’s time to put it into words.  I’ve got to say, I think that where she has done a really nice job is in providing a lesbian porno for actual lesbians, which is a very special niche in the industry that is underrepresented.  I think she’s really smart to market a real lesbian movie rather than porno lesbians.  It’s not that they’re unattractive, the women in the movie, it’s just that they’re not the blonde haired, blue-eyed, fake boob bimbos that I think of when I think of porno lesbians.  In my opinion, real and authentic is always preferable, and Madison always brings that to the table.

Three companies have contacted me about writing columns for them this week.  I am still waiting to hear the details on that.  Getting paid to write would certainly be nice!

So that’s where I end up, it’s such a mishmash of stuff and things.

Oh ya, and buy an ad on Fetlife!  Why?  Because we just crossed 40,000 members since January!  We just passed Bondage.com in our Alexa rating!  Because FetLife.com rocks!  And Because Catalina Says!

I Love My Job!

Every day I think my life is weird and then the next day it gets weirder. I think this is actually a good sign.

I’m really psyched that FetLife.com and Quid Pro Quo PR were both given a positive review in The-F-Mag.com.  I reposted it on CatalinaLoves.com today.  You can read it there, “Catalina loves The-F-Mag.com“, or read the original post, “Are You On Fetlife?”  Either way, do me a favor and read it :=)

I wrote the review for Madison Young’s, Undone, today.  It will post at midnight on CatalinaLoves.com.  It is the first porn (BDSM/Fetish or vanilla) that I’ve reviewed in quite some time.  I haven’t done a lot of movie reviews.  That’s because I generally don’t enjoy watching porn, but this movie has changed my opinion to be officially, “I don’t enjoy watching most porn, but some porn I really enjoy!”

I sent off a very small email interview for Peter Acworth (Kink.com) yesterday and waiting for his response is like waiting to hear Santa on the roof.   If you haven’t yet, you should watch the documentary on BehindKink.com.  It is interesting and entertaining at the same time.  I like that!

The NYC Sex Writers are working on a calendar project and I’m involved by proxy — which is amazing!  I will totally be updating you as the project progresses.  It’s my goal to be in NY to celebrate the release with them.  I fully expect every single reader to buy a calendar when it’s done. ;-)

Oh My God, For Your Nymphomation is sending me five sex toy cases to use as giveaways on my blog.  I’m pretty excited about that!! Thank you so much to FYN!

And now it’s time for me to get back to work.  I am working on BackdoorBondageBlog.com and I’ve literally just begun.  There is much to do, plus there are other projects I’m working on.  Balance, it’s a very delicate balancing act.

Wow, one last thing just happened — my very good friend, an aunt-like mentor, just texted me to tell me that she just confirmed that my handmade just for me quilt is in the mail.  Oh, now I have a package to look forward to on Thursday or Friday!!  I’ll give her a name since I’ll write about her again.  She’ll be known as La Profesora.
