A Good Way To Distract Yourself
I might be the last one alive to have signed up already for Twitter, my profile is CatalinaLoves, but I’m now officially addicted. I even have the little Twitterfox plug in for Firefox and now I can play with all my blogger friends and fellow kinksters and perverts all day long while I’m supposed to be working! If I could figure it out, I would add a little Twitter widget to Catalina Loves, but I haven’t figured it out yet. I could also, apparently, get updates on my cell phone, but again, not quite that cool. Funny, I can tell you how to write code, but I can’t get Twitter technology to work.
Well, that’s about it - anything more and I’ll just be looking for good things. These are all good things that I’ve found, stumbled upon, or was pointed to. I’d rather have a short list of good things that are really good than a big long list of crap I hunted for on Friday night at 9:33 pm (the current time here in Charlotte, NC).

Wow, it’s been a while, right? Did you wonder what happened? It was no coincidence. I wasn’t in the hospital or even off on some amazing playfest. In fact, part of our support of Lochai was to donate our prime real estate on our blogs through the 15th. It was quite intentional. But as much as I adore Lochai, and trust me, I adore Lochai every day (um yeah, he kind of figured it out), I have to write. It’s just driving me crazy not to write every day.
So what’s been going on? Wow, the world is melting down around me, yet things are better than ever. Know how that is? Like I have a friend going through a divorce, one who had to deal with her sister’s suicide attempt and also is shouldering the entire burden to now hold out hope as her cousin (who grew up as a sister) is fighting for her life at the Mayo Clinic. Big stuff, right? A friend I consider to be my lil’ sister was fired from her job suddenly. She is the third of my friends to be fired suddenly and unexpectedly. It really hits you in the gut when you don’t expect it! Add to all of that that someone exceptionally close to me is dealing with childhood issues of abuse, emotional and sexual - it was a blessing in disguise that I didn’t post for a week so I could help my friends get through rough times.
Okay, enough of the Debbie Downer stuff. Now the good stuff!
We couldn’t be happier that we are expecting two visitors. It looks like an undisclosed, but very lovely friend will be coming next month to be beaten, to beat me, to be beaten again, and then maybe MDS will beat both of us and make us cum until our legs give out like the guy in the Gatorade commercial… you know the one. While she’s here we plan to shoot with Altered Aperture, as well. Both separately and together. Who knows, maybe we’ll even shoot a video? I’m also really hoping that the four of us will be able to get together with Mr. F and that she and I alone will also go for a visit over to see Mr. F. So basically any way you can imagine having sex that weekend, we plan on it.
After that, in October, we are expecting an old friend from the past to come and visit us. It’s not just about sex. We love her. She’s special to us. We can’t wait to climb in bed together, put her between us, chill out and watch the Simpsons and just snuggle up… but, I did tell her that I couldn’t guarantee that I wouldn’t try to fuck her and she did say, “Oh, Catalina, I’m counting on it. Replace my name with yours and imagine it coming from one of the most beautiful women you know and happen to genuinely love. …yeah, right?! But wait, it gets better! Throw Mr. F. into the picture. What if Mr. F comes over to our house and the four of us figure out all the possible combinations that four people can get each other off? Well, really - that’s the plan.
Other news: The site is not live yet, but we are starting a new blog project that will include the best sex bloggers I know. Like people I can’t believe are actually wanting to put their name with mine? Wow. I am overwhelmed and moved all at the same time. The amount of work in setting up a big blog where all of the best sex bloggers post in one place is very daunting. We would be lost without the help of our Naughty Secretary, hereby known as NS. Quid Pro Quo is thriving and taking in new clients. Some of the people I’m working with on a professional level for their PR and Marketing are people that I admire. It’s fun to do it. I genuinely feel grateful that I enjoy my work so much. I work a lot. But that means that I spend my days talking to really cool people.
Well, there is so much to say… but it is 4:23 am, and I’ve yet to sleep. I’m going to wrap it up with this. It’s not even a matter of insomnia. I’m actually tired as fuck, but there was work to do. The day was fucked up because I basically got up, went running. I’m only 25 lbs. from my goal weight and I ran harder, faster, and farther than I’ve ever gone before. I told my texting buddy, we work out together, that he just gave me an exercise orgasm. Then came home and took a shower and picked W up from the airport and spent the evening with her and did a session later after she went to bed. Sometimes there literally aren’t enough hours in the day, so you have to use them all.

Having friends outside of the sex industry circle is kind of odd. Either you can’t be yourself or you can be yourself, but then that aspect of you consumes the entire friendship. Case in point - many of my “friends” have no idea that I am Catalina - a professional sex writer with a PR firm for fetish professionals. They just think I’m a stay-at-home Mom who goes to soccer games. They are the wives of my clients. That’s not real friendship though. We can’t really share in the the intimacy that friendship requires for me. We can discuss the children and that’s about it. As though our existence as (sexual) women is gone. That is until the alcohol comes out. I’ve been with these same women after they’ve had a few bottles of wine and they are just as filthy and nasty as Catalina. It’s just not proper and becoming of a good Southern Belle to talk about it under normal conditions.
I also have friends who aren’t in the industry, but know that I am Catalina. They know me primarily as my mom, wife, teacher self, but also know that I have a secret side. In general, they are more interested in hearing about what Mz. Berlin is really like, what it’s like to shoot porn, and how I managed to make friends with these people than how my life is going. In other words, I feel that I’m just a conduit to a taboo world they aren’t a part of, but wish they were. I don’t discuss much of my life as Catalina with them. My standard answer when people ask me questions about what I’ve been up to is, “Stuff and Things” (that’s why you’ll see that as my default journal category on this site).
My truest friends are in the sex industry in some fashion. Photographers, models, actresses, producers, webmasters, sex workers, graphic designers, submissives, and affiliate managers (like Mario at Stockroom - I love you, Mario!) Our conversations are often about sex and such, since that is our obvious common interest, but that’s not all we talk about. There’s more to it. We talk about real stuff. Important things. Relationships. Ideas. Politics. Life. Love. Money. Goals. Racism. Abuse. Addiction. Feminism. Parenting. … These friends and I discuss the important stuff. They are the only ones who truly know Catalina and her alter ego.
What’s the point of this post? I’m on Valium still for my shoulder, but I think it’s that sometimes people have expectations on both sides of my friendship equation that are out of balance. My soccer mom friends would think I’m a sinning whore unworthy of having children, while my friends who are hip to it think that my life is Sex in the City glamorous. The reality lies somewhere in the middle. After discussing her latest CBT scene with my friend, January Seraph, we then talked about the health status of her boyfriend’s lungfish and I sent her an extreme CBT image I had on my camera and she said, “LOL, Can I use that on …com?”
And That is why I love being Cataina (Most Of The Time). That and the fact that I get to talk to people that I once dreamed of talking to on a peer-to-peer level.

It’s Friday. Congratulations, it’s the weekend! I didn’t get a chance to journal last night because I got home so late from a session. I had a really nice time, actually. Today I had to go to the doctor! I have had a muscle spasm in my right shoulder for two weeks now and it’s just not going away - the result of the helicopter crash. I have back problems a lot, but I never pursue a medical remedy for them, because they never work. Today, though, I had no choice but to get a muscle relaxant. So far, it hasn’t worked. We’ll see. Last night I slept Maybe 2 hours. I woke up in pain and started crying this morning. I have a pretty high painthreshold. I had both of my babies without even a Tylenol. This is just miserable though - at least childbirth was finite.
Let’s see - what else? Oh, I spoke with John at FetLife. I’m pretty excited that he is going to do an interview with me. I started working on good questions for him today. It is pretty easy, actually. I have real questions that I really want to know the answers to.
I’m still waiting for Lochai’s interview responses (hint hint Lochai). I think that Lochai’s interview is going to turn out really well. Again, there were some things I was wanting to ask him anyway (like whether he wants to cum in my mouth or on my face… kidding, I didn’t ask him that).

We’ve been talking with the Whipped-Pussy.com people about representing them. I think they would be a nice addition to our client list. I’m fighting with Mz. Berlin’s new banner. WTF?! Everything is right in the .css code and the .php file. Well, apparently not *everything* or else it would work, but hypothetically I should just be able to upload the new file and change the .css code to reflect the new filename - that hasn’t worked. I love a good challenge, though. One of my favorite things about programming is debugging - details, details, details. I live for details.
I have new Coldplay shows!! OMG I can’t believe I almost forgot to report that. Today I saw the very first live performance of Lovers In Japan off the new Viva La Vida album. It was a w e s o m e!
I am not working so much this weekend. I really need to get better. I also really need to spend some time in pleasureful pain with MDS.
